From the founder

ChUV is built for the glow you can't fake.

I built CAYO Nutra because the supplement aisle is full of carotenoid products that promise warmth and deliver carrot-orange instead. ChUV is our answer. Clinically-studied astaxanthin and lycopene, zero beta carotene, zero hype.

We launched ChUV as the first tanning gummy built around clinically-dosed astaxanthin and lycopene instead of beta carotene. Every batch is third-party tested for heavy metals, microbial safety, and potency before it ships.

How ChUV works

A gummy, a meal with fat,
4-8 weeks.

01

One gummy, daily.

Chew a single ChUV gummy each morning. Eleven milligrams of astaxanthin and five point five milligrams of lycopene go to work.

02

Carotenoids absorb.

Your gut pulls both pigments into circulation. They reach skin tissue and accumulate layer by layer.

03

Natural color builds.

Over 4-8 weeks, a warm sun-kissed tone appears. Real pigment, not a paint job. No orange.

The Formula

Two carotenoids, two jobs, one natural tone.

ChUV pairs astaxanthin and lycopene at the doses the clinical literature actually uses. Both are sourced, tested, and dosed for real skin outcomes.

Photoprotective carotenoid

11mg

per gummy

Astaxanthin

from Haematococcus pluvialis

A red xanthophyll sourced from freshwater microalgae. Astaxanthin deposits in skin tissue, quenches UV-driven oxidative stress, and supports elasticity, moisture, and wrinkle resilience in human trials.

Lycopene

from non-GMO tomatoes

The red pigment in ripe tomatoes. Lycopene balances astaxanthin’s warmth for a neutral, natural tone and adds documented UV photoprotection.

How lycopene works

Zero beta carotene. Zero canthaxanthin. Zero artificial dyes. See why we refuse them.

Cellular antioxidant

Astaxanthin sits across the cell membrane with its polar ends in water and its lipid core in the bilayer. That quirk lets it quench free radicals in places most carotenoids cannot reach, including the pockets where UV-driven lipid peroxidation starts.

  • Quenches singlet oxygen and peroxyl radicals in lipid bilayers
  • Multiple orders of magnitude more potent than vitamin E in some assays
  • Active in both membrane and cytosolic compartments

Sourcing + Testing

Every pigment has a paper trail.

We source both actives from their most-studied natural origin. Then every batch is third-party tested for heavy metals, microbial safety, and potency before it hits a gummy.

Astaxanthin source: Cultivated freshwater microalgae

Astaxanthin

Haematococcus pluvialis

Cultivated freshwater microalgae

Oleoresin, cold-chain stabilized

The only astaxanthin source with the pigment-protein matrix used in human clinical trials. Yeast-derived synthetic astaxanthin does not behave the same in skin.

Lycopene source: Non-GMO tomato extract

Lycopene

Solanum lycopersicum

Non-GMO tomato extract

Fruit-body concentrate, solvent-free

Tomato-derived lycopene outperforms synthetic on absorption. Solvent-free extraction keeps the cis-isomer ratio your body can actually use.

Third-party tested

What every batch of ChUV has to pass.

Independent lab, every lot
  • Heavy metals

Every batch tested for lead, arsenic, cadmium, and mercury against USP <232> limits.

  • Microbial safety

Total plate count, yeast, mold, E. coli, and Salmonella screened on every incoming lot.

  • Potency assay

HPLC verification that the astaxanthin and lycopene doses on the label match the gummy.

  • Identity + purity

Certificate of analysis on every raw material. No adulterants, no undeclared fillers.

The Anti-Orange Principle

The ingredient we refuse to use.

Most tanning supplements use beta carotene. At supplement doses it produces carotenodermia, an unnatural yellow-orange cast. ChUV uses astaxanthin and lycopene for a warm, natural tone instead.

Beta carotene supplements

Unnatural yellow-orange discoloration.

  • Carotenodermia at common supplement doses
  • Palms and soles go orange first
  • Color reads cheap and flat, never sun-kissed

ChUV · Astaxanthin + Lycopene

A natural warm glow.

  • Clinically-studied pigmentation
  • Even distribution across skin tissue
  • Warmth reads real, not carrot

What customers actually say.

Week 6

My natural glow, finally.

I tried beta carotene gummies and my palms turned orange. ChUV is the first thing that gave me a warm, realistic tone. Month two, still glowing.

Week 4

Skeptic turned subscriber.

Didn't expect much. By week 4 my wife asked if I'd been to the beach. I had not. One gummy a day and that's it.

Marcus A.Austin, TX

Week 8

A cleaner spray-tan replacement.

The orange cast from spray tans was deal-breaking. ChUV looks like I actually went outside for once. Subscription locked in.

Week 5

Subtle and consistent.

I wanted color without looking baked. Took about five weeks but I'm at the right warmth now. People keep asking what's different.

Week 7

No more PNW pallor.

Live in the Pacific Northwest. Pale year-round. ChUV got me to a healthy warm tone by week 6 without the orange palms my friend gets from her supplement.

Alex M.Portland, OR

Week 4

Backed up by the labels.

First gummy I trust. The dosing is on the box, the lab data is on the site. Other brands hide their numbers. ChUV doesn't. Result speaks for itself.

Week 8

My undertone, amplified.

Not trying to change my skin tone. Just wanted my natural warmth to read more. ChUV does exactly that. Healthier-looking, not different-looking.

Rena W.Atlanta, GA

Week 5

Easy daily ritual.

One gummy with my morning coffee, that's the whole thing. Five weeks in and I look like I just got back from somewhere warm. Worth it for the consistency alone.

Week 6

Best for tech-bro pallor.

Office light all day, beach maybe twice a year. ChUV is the only thing that has visibly warmed my skin tone. Customer for life.

Questions, answered

FAQ

How long before I see results?

Most people notice a warm tone by week 3-4, with full results at 8 weeks on one gummy daily.

Do tanning gummies actually work?

Yes. Carotenoid pigmentation is a well-documented pathway. ChUV uses astaxanthin and lycopene, both clinically studied for skin coloration.

Will ChUV turn me orange?

No. ChUV uses astaxanthin and lycopene at measured doses for a natural warm tone. Beta carotene is the ingredient that causes orange discoloration, and we refuse to use it.

Does ChUV replace sunscreen?

Astaxanthin offers real internal photoprotection by neutralizing UV-induced free radicals at the cellular level. For prolonged outdoor exposure, pair ChUV with topical SPF. Think of them as complementary.

What if I don't tan?

You don't need the sun to tan with ChUV. Carotenoid pigmentation deposits astaxanthin and lycopene directly into dermal tissue, producing a warm tone without UV. Sun exposure makes the effect richer. Astaxanthin and lycopene are photoprotective antioxidants, so pairing ChUV with moderate sun yields a deeper, more saturated tan than either alone.

Is ChUV safe to take daily?

Yes. ChUV is made in a GMP-certified facility in the USA, contains no artificial dyes, and is formulated at doses supported by clinical literature.

Can I take ChUV with other supplements?

Generally yes. Astaxanthin and lycopene are fat-soluble, so take ChUV with a meal that contains some healthy fat for best absorption.

How is ChUV different from other tanning supplements?

Most tanning gummies rely on beta carotene, which produces an unnatural orange cast at supplement doses. ChUV stacks clinically-studied astaxanthin and lycopene for a natural warm tone.

Does ChUV contain allergens?

ChUV is vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, and free of the major allergens. See the full supplement facts panel on the product page.

How does shipping work?

Subscriptions ship free. One-time orders ship at standard domestic rates. Orders leave our fulfillment facility within 1 to 2 business days.

When should I expect to see results?

Most people see a first noticeable warmth in weeks 3-4 and full tone expression by week 6-8. Carotenoid pigmentation is cumulative, so consistent daily use matters more than dose stacking.

Do I need to keep taking ChUV to keep my color?

Yes. Carotenoid accumulation is gradual, and so is the fade. Daily use keeps your tone consistent.
